As the largest city in the Great Lakes region, we offer a location convenient for all regions in the USA/CAN. We look to provide a tournament location for players from all regions to come together.

Location: Hyatt Regency O’Hare Chicago (Narita Room)

Tournament cap numbers:
Final Venue based cap (68 players)
To every mahjong club and individual player, we hope to see you here. After hosting tournament play at Anime Central for 9 editions, this is our first standalone tournament.
Ruleset: The general tournament format will feature the traditional: N-hanchan with post-cut positions into a semifinal and final. The ruleset is tentatively M.League rules (modified), but we can consider other tournament rulesets as well. We can also modify some of the rules for familiarity. We will not deviate far from most tournament rulesets. A full table of the rule settings will be posted here.
For players not qualifying into the post-cut portion of the tournament, we can provide an optional side-event mahjong activity.
Side Event: A side event may be offered for players, who did not qualify into the semifinal. More information on this side event will be posted here.
Prizes: More to be announced. Top 3 will receive trophies. Placements 4th to X will receive medals.
Included in the top prize is this custom made tournament champion junk mat bag.
For more direct information and channel to ask questions, feel free to join the Tournament Discord. Otherwise, you may e-mail Chicago Area Mahjong or post a comment below.
More details as well as the participant field will be posted on this page. We look forward to serving the general riichi community with this tournament. We hope to see you here and compete.
Signed, Kyuu
